Glade Bhakoru

Description

I will let you all in on a little secret: I hate Glade.

Not the idea, or the pets in general (they're actually probably consistently the best pets we have on-site) but I haaaaate drawing them. I'm not sure why. I think it's the flowers, and the randomness of the placements coupled with having to draw lots of very small details that can very easily come out looking like shit when resized. It's a very frustrating color, and that's why all of my pets tend to not be released in it. I WANT to, but I hate how they come out.

Even now, Gemma had to stop me from completely redoing the flowers on this one when it was done. I wanted to start over, because the only thing I see on here are missed opportunities.

Anyway, as for the pet itself, I've been wanting to do prehistoric plants for it ever since the Bhakoru was created. I knew I wanted those twisty ferns, but it's difficult to find a colorful variety of flowers simply because there weren't any. I settled for plants that are still around today. I ended up with butterbur, the ferns, and the things on the crest that are vaguely magnolia-like. I also wanted to work giant insects in, so I stuck a birdwing butterfly in there, with the pararistolochia plants they live off of. Originally, the Bhakoru was gonna have a bit dragonfly on the nose, but I changed that at the last second to archaeopteryxes cause I thought it might be cuter.

I'm including the flowerless version for people who edit. :)

A TREE STAR?! IS THAT A TREE STAR?! ;O;

For the record, I admire your Glade pets the most because I like the wonderful details you put into the flora and little fauna surrounding the pet. It's the fine details that make both this Bhakoru and the Tigrean stand out; I would much rather an artist who takes their time, because the ending result shows the immense love behind it.
