The Last of Us - Clicker Nouveau

Back in October (I think? Gosh, it's been so long!), welovefine.com opened a contest for The Last of Us-themed tee shirt entries. I wasn't even sure about entering because I've never done anything that large and I didn't even know if my computer could handle. Still, I got it in my head to draw a clicker, and I really wanted to do it, if for no other reason than to see if I could.

Basically I wanted to try the nouveau-style out on something that was "ugly." If you've played TLOU, you know clickers are these grotesque zombies that have fallen victim to a disfiguring fungus. Bursts right out of your face, it's horrible. When I first saw the designs (before the game came out) I loved them. I just thought it was a really cool way to depict zombies, and I wanted to do something related to them. For the border, I just wanted to incorporate the aspects of the fungus, with the tendrils and the spores, as well as the symbol of the Fireflies.

If you've been on Subeta lately, you probably saw my ad (though I tried not to be too spammy with it!) Then voting ended, and I got picked as a finalist! I thought that was awesome enough, but I didn't want to get too excited because there were so many other great entries.

Well, just today, the winners were all announced, and guess what? I won a spot! Neil Druckmann, the creative director for The Last of Us, chose mine as his judge's picked! I am so happy you guys, I can't even explain.
